At the centre of the work of the pioneers of community dance is the joy of art, of the extraordinary, of playing with sounds, movement, visual worlds, and poetry. Together with children and teenagers from three Dsseldorf special-needs schools, and supervised by three choreographers from North-Rhine Westphalia (Sabine Seume, Misael Lopez und Andreas Simon), they embarked on the adventure of the art of dance and developed a choreography at each school. Committed teachers, enthusiastic kids, a week of dance instead of conventional classes, and many new experiences for everybody! The crowning finale of the project brings all the participating kids together for a Mahler choreography by Royston Maldoom. Participating schools are Rheinische Frderschule Hren und Kommunikation, Rheinische Frderschule Krperliche und Motorische Entwicklung, and Stdtische Frderschule Geistige Entwicklung.
