Traininig

Beginning January 22, TANZLABOR_21 established regular dance trainings for professionals. These trainings are taught by Frankfurt-based choreographers and dancers as well as visiting teachers from the field of contemporary dance. Training times: Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Dr. Hoch‘s Konservatorium, Sonnemannstr. 16, 60314 Frankfurt.

Resumee

Norddeutsches Tanztreffen – Tanzplan Bremen is now, with its third run, well established with the public. This is how Patricia Stöckeman/Tanzplan Bremen summed things up at the end of the festival: “That was the breakthrough,” she says. Almost all performances of the five-day festival, which was held from January 27 –31 in Osnabrück, were sold out.

February 5 and 6
Ausbildungskonferenz Tanz

On February 5 and 6, representatives of the state academies and dance schools meet for their working meeting, initiated by Tanzplan Educational Projects, in Berlin. During that meeting, a national lobbying group is founded which wants to participate as “one” voice in the current dance education debates. The group names itself “Ausbildungskonferenz Tanz. Arbeitsgemeinschaft der staatlichen Ausbildungsinstitutionen für Tänzerinnen und Tänzer in Deutschland (BA,MA/ Diplom/ Bühnenreifeprüfung)” [Educational Conference Dance: Consortium of State Training and Educational Institutions for dancers in Germany (BA,MA/ Diplom/ Bühnenreifeprüfung)]. Members of the board are Prof. Lutz Förster (chair), Prof. Dieter Heitkamp, Prof. Christine Neumeyer, and Prof. Dr. Ralf Stabel.
To mark the founding of this new group, a press talk is held in the offices of Tanzplan on February 5, at 7:00 pm.

Press conference

On February 7, at Muffatwerk in Munich Tanzbasis e.V holds a press conference to present its projects that are part of Access to Dance – Tanzplan München.

February 10 and 11
Further courses

As part of Access to Dance – Tanzplan München, Dr Liane Simmel and Andrea Marton will hold courses on dance medicine and the Feldenkrais method in its practical applications in children’s dance.

February 15
Sponsoring

Tanzplan Deutschland e.V. decides to sponsor up to five publications that seek to extend knowledge about dance and explore new intellectual approaches to dance, with up 20,000 euros per year, until the end of 2010. An application deadline of March 31 of each year is decided upon, and this deadline is announced.

February 12 – 17
ImproWinter

Tanzplan Dresden’s first project takes place: the First ImproWinter. It is an interdisciplinary week of workshops with a focus on improvisation in various disciplines.
Simultaneously, on February 14 at 10:30 am there is a press conference at Palucca Schule in Dresden with all participants, and the new website goes online: www.tanzplan-dresden.de.

Workweek

Tanzplan Essen 2010’s first workweek takes place February 12 – 17. Together with the musician Jens Thomas (artist-in-residence at Schauspielhaus Bchum), Folkwang Tanzstudio addresses the issue of improvisation. The workweek is documented by the filmmaker Christoph Böll.

Symposium

Tanzplan Deutschland’s first symposium, in cooperation with Akademie Schloss Solitude (where the symposium is being held) on the topic “Dance – Space – Residency Programmes” takes place in Stuttgart. More than 80 participants from eight nations debate with artists, architects, and philosophers about the pros and cons of residencies for dance artists. Speakers include, among others, Yehuda Safran, Markus Bader, and Jan Liesegang (raumlabor_berlin), Alice Chauchat, Jan Ritsema, Ligia Nobre, and Nele Hertling, as well as representatives of the various Tanzplan cities.

March 5 – 9
Audition

The entrance examinations for the degree programme “Zeitgenössischer Tanz, Kontext, Choreografie (BA)” [Contemporary Dance, Context, Choreography] at the Hochschulübergreifenden Zentrum Tanz – Pilotprojekt Tanzplan Berlin take place in Berlin’s HALLE. There are more than 180 applicants.

Press talk

On the rehearsal stage 3 of Mousonturm, the team of Tanzlabor_21: Tanzplan Frankfurt Rhein_Main and Madeline Ritter host a press talk.

English Publication

The English version of Tanzplan Deutschland’s informational brochure is published.

March 20
Premiere

Premiere of the first “dance in schools” project under the auspices of TANZLABOR_21 – Tanzplan Frankfurt Rhein_Main: at Theater Moller Haus in Darmstadt, twelfth-grade students from Viktoria Schule Darmstadt, directed by Wiebke Dröge, perform the piece Ortsverweise.

Press conference

K3 – Zentrum für Choreographie / Tanzplan Hamburg holds a press conference on Kampnagel to present its plans, introduce the first three choreographers-in-residence – Monica Antezana (Hamburg/Bolivia), Jenny Beyer (Rotterdam/Hamburg), and Lina Lindheimer (Giessen/Berlin) –, and present its new website and K3’s space that is currently undergoing renovation.

March 30
Premiere

On March 30, the world premieres of Tanzplan Dresden’s first two productions take place at Festspielhaus Hellerau and Freigelände. [memori] is the work of British choreographer Wayne McGregor, and Fire Sketch, the second work of the evening, is a new piece by the French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, with electronic music by Laurent Garnier. Both productions, co-produced by D.A.N.C.E. (Dance Apprentice Network aCross Europe), Random Dance and Ballet Preljocaj, will tour throughout Europe in 2007.627
