The German and English versions of the publication “Dance Techniques 2010 – Tanzplan Germany”, edited by Ingo Diehl / Friederike Lampert, and both DVDs accompanying the book, have come out in January, 2010!
A research project was launched in 2008 as part of Tanzplan Deutschland’s dance training programme. The results of this research, which involved well-known dance universities in Germany and Europe, will be available as a book, published by Henschel.
In this book, dance experts and dancers get to grips with the most important dance techniques in modern, post-modern and contemporary dance (Humphrey/Limón, Cunningham, Jooss-Leeder, Release, Muller, Countertechnique and others). The respective historical context, the ideology, the aesthetic taught, the physical pre-requisites, the movement characteristics and working methods when training are all key themes covered in the book. There are also supplementary essays on the meaning of the term “dance technique” and the ways in which it emerges, 100 images and 2 Training DVDs.
